Thanks to H!P Sauce for remembering us all of Kei-chan in the right day (yesterday), especially since she's not much remembered these days. Although I could have made a simple "happy birthday" post, that wouldn't have me delayed one day for the party, I decided it'd be a nice opportunity to make a bigger tribute to this historical member <3 And is there anything better to show of her talent than her acting in the old HaroMoni Gekijou? Unfortunately for now I only have "Bus ga kuru made" screencaps, but it's when Kei-chan had her best characters anyway...
And to top it off, here's a clip of Obaachan in her best form ever =D Well, not really... I remember one episode with that dark think in the ground that when the characters went on they turned "evil"... Obaachan appeared with some hardcore makeup and props, and I think she did the dance there. I want to find that episode again and take some screencaps of that so bad >_< Anyway, this wouldn't be complete without a full video of her appearance in one of the skits, so here's one of my favorites, with a great chemistry between her and Nacchi, and an interesting twist with the appearance of another great older generation member: watch it here.
It's easy to forget that many Momusu, past and present, are accomplished actresses to boot.

We could argue endlessly about my failure to see much acting talent on Momusu's current line-up, with maybe the exception of Aichan (who doesn't have that much acting blood itself on her, but whose vocal talent just shines too much and, considered that Ribbon was a musical, was more than enough enough), but yeah, especially now that Haromoni@ doesn't have this kind of segment anymore, it's hard to see this side of them. And a pity.

gotta love Kei-chan. One of my all time faves.
Cheers for reminding us.
Makes me misthe old format of H!M. Mind you, it did have a habit of dragging in parts. But it needed a refinement rather than a complete make over in my opinion. Still, I am finding some Joy out of recent HM@

H!M lost some quality in 2006-07, they started repeating too much the same segments. Actually, making those segments fixed in itself was a mistake, since before that the program would always have a different theme for the each show, with only one or two fixed segments in the end (like the Mini Moni ones and the awesome News). These different themes per show gave it some life. I couldn't stand all those Pucchi Games by the end of 06... Then, when I imagine even they grew tired of it, they started putting dogs in it. There were a bunch of episodes with animals. And then, back to Pucchi... All they had to do was go back in time and start doing it the way they did back in 03-04. Instead, they decided to start all over.
HM@ is getting better, but if it keeps almost always repeating the Chibikko King - Uso Queen formats the way it is now, I'll eventually grow tired of it. In the end, they'll make the same mistake they needed to correct from H!M.

I agree mostly...I think HM's main problem was that it wasn't ever substantial as a whole. There were always weak segments to underpin the good ones, and it didn't look like they knew how to remedy it. You're right about HM getting old by the end of 2006, and the actual members showing it in the physical, although it wasn't as blunt as that, and it probably set the tone for the fans. still, I maintain that it just needed re-working. The beauty of H!M was that it felt like MM's HQ where they could settle down and work on their idol personae, or on the flip of a coin...some may argue that it was the other way around. That it gave the members a chance to be 'themselves'.
Still, I suppose HM@ still gives them that to a lesser extent. It's certainly not as involved, which I find slightly odd, considering old H!M was a great way to peddle their identities. I guess it's good that they're not always in the studio though, and I agree that it looks to be getting better. Yeh the formatof King and Queen might need to be added to.
